Prior to competition commencing on Saturday morning, the Centre Multi Event awards were presented, with the winners receiving a trophy and second and third placegetters a medallion. All participants received a certificate with full results.

Competition then commenced in perfect conditions, and the athletes produced some fantastic results. Kiara Ive recorded 6 Personal Best (PB) results. 12 athletes produced 5PB’s while 173 of the 189 athletes in attendance obtained at least one PB. Nelson Banigo broke another long standing Centre record, running 10.99 secs for the Under 8 60m Hurdles, breaking a 34 year old record. Keely Rich (Dolphins) also set a new record in the Under 15 Javelin, throwing 21.52 metres, to break her own previous record.

This week’s meet will be Jetstar Round with all athletes encouraged to dress in orange to support Little Athletics Victoria’s major sponsor Jetstar. The Centre will be conducting activities throughout the morning with prizes being awarded. Individual Jetstar prizes from LAVic can be won for best dressed.
