The 2018/19 track and field season commenced on Saturday morning at Masons Lane Reserve and the weather was perfect for Little Athletics.  It was extremely pleasing to see so many new faces, as well as our past members returning for another season.  We had a large number of Come and Try athletes and we hoped they all enjoyed their first athletics competition.

Congratulations to Nelson Banigo who broke our first record for the season.  Nelson ran 13.84 seconds for the Boys Under 10 100 metres and looks set to have another superb season.

Training will commence for all registered athletes this Thursday from 4-5pm.  Our new Education Officer, Bethan White will be holding a session on sprint starts and long jump.

Next week will be our Official Season Opening.  Life Members and Distinguished Service members are invited to attend and will join the Committee for morning tea.  Our new season Captains will also be announced.  All athletes are reminded that Club uniforms are compulsory, this includes Club Polo shirts which are available at the Office for $27 and plain black shorts.  All athletes must also wear their Subway Registration tag at all times while competing.
